Another Year Older

This past Saturday was my birthday. The way things worked out it was kind of nice because I was able to celebrate a little bit the whole weekend. Earlier in the week I gave myself a birthday present with a new hair cut. Friday night my mom, sisters, and I had girls night. We ate dinner together and watched August Rush while munching on ice cream and movie candies. Saturday I spent the whole day with my hubby. He fixed us breakfast, and gave me my birthday present. He had bought me some flowers, and then gave me the quilt that goes with Levi's bedding and some money so I can get me something new after the baby arrives. We then spent much of the afternoon getting Levi's nursery ready. We had been meaning to do it for some time, but have been so busy. It isn't done yet, but well on its way. I'll post pictures soon of our progress. That night we went out to dinner at City Slickers. They are notorious for their free birthday dinner, so that's where we headed and it was delicious! On Sunday we celebrated my birthday with my family. We ate lunch with them and then shared a fabulous ice cream cake my sisters picked up from Dairy Queen. It was superb. I just want to thank everyone who called or left me messages wishing me a "Happy Birthday!" I love you all!

Baby Update

I had my 30 week check-up yesterday. Everything looks good. Levi is progressing great, but he is a little on the big side. As some of you may have heard that at my last visit (28 weeks) he measured in the 67 percentile. Two days later I went to the specialist, and from their ultrasound he measured in the 97 percentile!!! As you can imagine this concerned me a great deal since I am the one that will be delivering this bouncing baby boy. At my appointment yesterday we discussed his growth. They are going to continue to monitor his growth, and we will be making more definite decisions over the next few weeks. Right now it is possible that they might induce me at 38 weeks if everything is good. If not, we may discuss a c-section at 40 weeks. However, nothing is definite, so we'll see as the time passes. Either way, we just have a few more weeks to go. He could be here as early as 7 weeks from now!

Happy Easter

We celebrated Easter with Aaron's family this year. We went to church with his parents, and then ate a wonderful lunch at their home. It was a great time of fellowship as we hung out and the kids hunted Easter eggs. Easter is a special time for us as Christians because it is the day we celebrate the Risen Savior, Christ Jesus. Last weekend Aaron portrayed Christ in a passion play. It was moving to see the crucifixion and resurrection in the play. It reminds us of what the Lord did on the cross for us, and how wonderful it is to live for Him. We hope everyone had a blessed Easter. Below are some pictures from our afternoon.

His Beautiful Face

Today was my 28 week check up. I had my glucose test and an ultrasound done. We had a 3D ultrasound done a few weeks ago, but were unable to get any pictures of the baby's face because of how he was positioned. Today I brought my CD with me and the ultrasound tech was able to capture these pictures of his face. We are so excited! Mom says it looks like he has the Hudson nose. What do you guys think? He currently weighs 2 pounds 14 ounces, which puts him in the 67 percentile. He is progressing well and looking great. Only 12 weeks to go!

Great Season Bulldogs!

I have been assisting my dad with coaching Upward Basketball for the last several months. Upward is a great program that allows all children involved to develop their basketball skills. Our team has worked so well together this year, and all of our players have improved as the season has progressed. We are currently undefeated, with our last game coming up this Saturday. Last night was our last practice. Every year that we have coached, our last practice is a game between our boys and their moms. It is so much fun to watch, and everyone has a great time. Afterwards we have a pizza party for the whole team and their families. We had a great time this year getting to know all the boys and their families. Cousins

My cousins, sisters, and I have always been very close. We all grew up down the road from one another, so we are more like sisters than cousins. Life has taken us in many directions and all across the U.S., so we don't get to see each other much; however, that hasn't changed the bond between us. My cousin Rachel came out to Georgia to visit for the past three weeks. While she was out here we were able to spend some much need time catching up. She even helped throw my first baby shower. Jessica was also able to come down from Cedartown to hang out with us a couple of nights. We had a great time catching up. Here are a few pictures from our times together over the past few weeks.

Ekklesia Bowling

Ekklesia had an outing this past Sunday afternoon. We went to eat that this wonderful place in McDonough called Pies On Pizza and then we headed to FunTown to do a little bowling. We all had a blast hanging out and showing off our skills or lack there of. I thought you guys might enjoy this picture of Me, Beth, and Amy. They put bowling balls under their shirts so it would look like we were all pregnant. I have some wonderful, crazy sisters.

Shower Time!

Well it has begun. The baby showers I mean. This past Saturday I had my first baby shower. My Aunt Ky and cousin Rachel threw me a wonderful shower for family and a few special friends. Everything was very nice. Rachel made a Motherhood advice book for me. All the ladies wrote advice for me and Aaron on raising and loving children. Rachel also made the diaper cake pictured above. She is so talented and creative. We played a few games, my favorite being the race with the baby toys, unfortunately I was not very good at the game and got out on the first round. I just wanted to thank everyone that came out and blessed us with gifts for Levi. We feel very blessed to have all of you in our lives.

Here are some of my favorite gifts from the shower. These are three handmade blankets that I received. The dark blue and light blue is one my Aunt Ky made, the blue and white is the one that Moo made, and the cowboy one is the blanket Rachel made Levi. Aaron's favorite is definitely the cowboy blanket.
