“Serve the LORD in sincerity and in truth... Choose you this day whom you will serve.
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Fear Turned to Celebration

I awoke this morning to silence. At first I thought nothing of it, but soon realized I never wake to silence since I've had Levi. Immediately I checked the clock and it was 7:45 am. This scared me to death. I immediately got up and looked in the basinet to check on him. He was still and silent. I touched his cheek and it was cool which scared me even more. I nudged him a little and nothing, so I nudged him harder. Finally he jerked and I sigh of relief came over my body. He still didn't wake, but at least I knew he was okay. Once I knew he was okay I was able to celebrate that he had slept for 9 hours!!! He slept from 11 pm to 8:15 am. Hopefully this will be the beginning of many restful nights.

Ekklesia Pool Party

Yesterday we went to the Ekklesia Pool Party. A big thanks goes out the Jerry & Pat Culverhouse who hosted us at their home all day. We had a great time swimming and hanging out with one another. The guys entertained us with their jumps and dives off the diving board, and all of us played a little bocce ball at some point during the day. The Culverhouse's provided lunch, and the food was amazingly yummy, especially the birthday cake Beth and Amy brought to celebrate Jason's birthday. We ended the day chilling out and watching the USA men's volleyball team win the gold medal followed by the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.

Todd & Missy's Wedding

Saturday we attended Todd and Missy's wedding in Social Circle. The ceremony and reception were beautiful, and Missy was stunning. From the pictures I'm sure you can tell we had a great time dancing and celebrating with them. Congratulations you guys!

Saddleback Civil Forum

Last night Aaron and I watched the Saddleback Civil Forum featuring presidential nominees John McCain and Barak Obama. This forum offered insight into the nominee's views on many topics and issues that are important to Christians in this upcoming election. If political jargon is often confusing then this forum is perfect for you. The questions and responses are easy to understand, and the moderator does a decent job of keeping them on the task of answering the question at hand. We believe that this upcoming election is vitally important for the future of America. As the election approaches please be in prayer for our nation. Catching Up

This week we were able to catch up with my cousins. Rebecca and Jason came down from Virginia to introduce us to their new little guy, Joseph. While they were here Jessica and Rachel took the opportunity to come down to Covington as well. Jessica's little boy, Braden, and Rachel's little girl, Lacey, along with Joseph and Levi were all born within a year of each other. We took advantage of them being in town and spent as much time together as possible. We even took a trip to Discover Mills together. You'll need to check Amy's blog for details about her Lego experience that "will blow your mind." I love you guys and had such a great time seeing you this past week.

Just for Giggles

I have discovered that I will do anything and make a fool of myself just to get my little one to smile or giggle.

Last weekend a bunch of us headed to the river to hang out and relax. There is rope attached to a tree that a bunch of them used to swing into the river. Here is Aaron's first attempt.

Nice belly flop. Now here is a video of him actually enjoying it.

The rest of us had a pretty good time too.
