Memorial Day Weekend

Nobody does family better than my family, so of course we are going to find a reason to get together and celebrate something if we can. Memorial Day weekend we got together to cookout and enjoy fellowship with some family that was in town from Hawaii. It was all the good stuff - hamburgers, hotdogs, lemonade, suckers, the shoot-shoot, and one special cake (you'll have to go to the bottom of the post if you want to know what that is all about). It was so nice to see all our family. We are super close, so times like these only bring us closer together.

Play Date

Friday Levi had a play date with Jones, Lacey, & Braden. They all had lots of fun playing together, and I had a great time catching up with Jess & Rae. Hope to see you guys again soon!

TWILIGHT!

...and waiting. We were there an hour early! Last night Beth, Amy, Rachel, Mom, Aunt Denise and myself all went to see TWILIGHT! We have all been obsessed with the books and have been looking forward to the movie for weeks. Rachel bought our tickets like a month ago, and we've been waiting ever since! We all went to dinner beforehand, but ALL we talked about was TWILIGHT and EDWARD! We started a line to get into the movie to make sure no one was in before us. As soon as the doors opened, we RAN, yes RAN to get the best seats in the house! There was so much excitement in the theater, and here's what happened when the lights went down for the movie to begin...

The movie was good, but I will say that you should read the book before you see the movie in order to understand everything. I thought they left a few key things out of the movie, and they made a few scenes a little cheesy for my taste. However, Edward was handsome and did not disappoint any expectations. When he appeared on screen the first time the place went CRAZY! I mean he sparkles! Overall, we had a FANTASTIC time, and I think we are all looking forward to the New Moon movie.

Twilight Fever

Well, I was feeling a little left out. Not because I haven't read Twilight, but because I haven't written a post about it...until now. Let me start by saying that I'm always up for a good book, but that is the problem. It MUST be good, or I will quit reading it even if I'm already half way through. I can't tell you how many books I've started and never finished because they just didn't hold my interest. Besides the topic of vampires was a complete turn-off. I mean, really, how could that ever be interesting? Jessica, Rachel, Rebecca, & Beth were all reading it, so I decided to bite the bullet and read it too. I LOVE IT! I can't wait to read the others, and I'm so excited about the movie. See you all on November 21st!

Georgia Aquarium

Alison was in town this past week, and we decided to go to the Georgia Aquarium for the day. We had a great time hanging out and seeing all the fish and animals. After our trip we went to the Varsity for lunch...yummy! Alison - it was so good seeing you. I hope you had a great trip!

Catching Up

This week we were able to catch up with my cousins. Rebecca and Jason came down from Virginia to introduce us to their new little guy, Joseph. While they were here Jessica and Rachel took the opportunity to come down to Covington as well. Jessica's little boy, Braden, and Rachel's little girl, Lacey, along with Joseph and Levi were all born within a year of each other. We took advantage of them being in town and spent as much time together as possible. We even took a trip to Discover Mills together. You'll need to check Amy's blog for details about her Lego experience that "will blow your mind." I love you guys and had such a great time seeing you this past week.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

This past week we were extremely busy, which explains why I'm just now getting to update. I posted a shoutout to my sister Beth who turned 24 one week ago today. That afternoon a bunch of us surprised her with lunch. She had no idea, and we had a great time celebrating her birthday. My childhood friend Jennifer Eoff was also in town last week, and we were able to spend some time together at Beth's celebration.

Friday night Aaron and Beth had a softball game where they redeemed themselves from last week. They still lost, but only by one run. Those of you who saw the previous week's game know what I'm talking about.

My cousin Rebecca is expecting a little boy in July. We are about 7 weeks apart in our due dates. She had her family baby shower this weekend. She is currently living in Virginia, so she came into town on Thursday for the week. Her sisters Rachel and Alison also came from Utah, and Rachel is actually moving back to GA - Yay!! Everyone was in town and we were able to spend a little time together at the shower.

Cousins

My cousins, sisters, and I have always been very close. We all grew up down the road from one another, so we are more like sisters than cousins. Life has taken us in many directions and all across the U.S., so we don't get to see each other much; however, that hasn't changed the bond between us. My cousin Rachel came out to Georgia to visit for the past three weeks. While she was out here we were able to spend some much need time catching up. She even helped throw my first baby shower. Jessica was also able to come down from Cedartown to hang out with us a couple of nights. We had a great time catching up. Here are a few pictures from our times together over the past few weeks.
