"...I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. I was given life that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am, among all men, most richly blessed.”
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

The Hills Are Alive With...
The Sound of Music is my favorite movie of all time. Seriously - my favorite. I absolutely love the story and of course the music. I probably have every single song memorized (and most of the dialogue at that). I'm not sure what exactly it is about this movie that makes it so wonderful, but it has always had a special place in my heart. Today on Oprah (disclaimer: I do not normally watch Oprah, but heard this was going to be on so I made an exception) they had a Sound of Music reunion show. I loved being taken back to that moment when I first watched it and hearing about all the behind the scenes stories. If you haven't ever seen it I strongly recommend you do. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to snuggle on the couch and watch this with me. Here are a few clips from some of my favorite scenes.

Family Worship
We have been reading this book for our small group at church, and all I have to say is WOW! We are only about halfway through the book and it has already challenged me in so many ways about how I parent as a Christian. I'll keep all my nuggets of knowledge for another post once I finish the book, but I wanted to share something we've started in our family. Part of the book talks about family worship. Family worship is basically just what is says - time during the day when the family worships the Creator together. We do ours in the evening for about 10 minutes. We read a devotion, a passage or story from scripture, pray, and sing songs. It has been a challenged to do this every night because of our schedules sometimes, but realizing the importance of it we try to schedule everything else around it. Our favorite part of family worship is the music. Thanks to some friends we've found these awesome songs from Seeds Family Worship. The videos are lots of fun, the tunes are catchy but not annoying as other children music can be, and best of all it is straight scripture. Be sure to check out their website. They've got lots of great tools and ideas for teaching little ones the Bible. Here's a video of one of our favorites so far. Hope you enjoy! Be sure to scroll down and turn our blog music off before you start the video :)

Big Thanks AMY!!!
Amy won 2 tickets to the concert off the radio. She called into This Fish and had to make up a song including several words they gave her, and then sing it on the radio. Anyways, they loved her song about rainbows and unicorns and gave her the tickets!! Sadly, Amy had a prior committment to teach on Wednesday night, so she generously gave Beth & I the tickets. We had a great time at the concert, and owe Amy big time for it! Thanks for letting us go in your place!
P.S. This is my 200th post! Yay me!
