“Serve the LORD in sincerity and in truth... Choose you this day whom you will serve.
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua 24:14-16

Please

I have been trying to teach Levi to sign a few words. We are currently working on learning the signs for more and thank you. He already knows how to sign for all done and please. He uses the sign for please all the time. He signs when he wants to eat, read, or be picked up. Here's a video of him saying please for some more of is sandwich. Hope you all enjoy it.

Knee

For those of you who just want to know... Last summer on our vacation to Tampa I hurt my knee pretty bad. Well about three weeks ago I re-injured it playing softball. I went to the doctor and had fluid and blood drained from it. When I went back my ligaments still felt loose, so he ordered an MRI that I had last Monday. I went to the doctor today for those results and found out that I have a sprained ACL and MCL. I also have two places on the bone that are bruised. The GOOD news is that I need NO SURGERY! That is a huge praise because it was sounding like that was where we were headed. The bruises on the bone will heal like any other bruise, but will just take a lot longer. So everything is not 100% yet, but everything should heal in time. I have to exercise my quads to strengthen my knees, but other than that all is good. So, thanks to everyone who prayed for me! God is good and listens when we call upon His name.

One Year Check-Up

Levi had his one year check-up over a week ago. Life has been a little crazy since then and I haven't really had time to sit down and write about all the things he is doing and learning. I want to thank Aaron's mom for helping me get Levi to his appointment since it was right after I fell and injured my knee again. I'll post all about that here soon. Anyways, back to Levi. At his appointment he weighted 23.6 pounds (around 55%), and measured 32 inches long (still in the 95%). Below is a picture of him enjoying some cake at his party a few weeks ago. To mark his one year, here are a few things about Levi:
  • He signs 'Please' and 'All Done'
  • He says lots of words, but mostly Mama, Dada, Papa, Bay, & Dodger.
  • He has eight teeth and is currently cutting his molars.
  • He loves to joke around. He will offer you some of his food and when you go to take it he quickly pulls back and eats it himself. He thinks he is so funny.
  • He loves to read. His favorite books right now are Hop On Pop, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, and My First Animal Book.
  • He is still sleeping through the night and sleeps about 10-12 hours at night.
  • He is completely off baby food and eats table food. He loves carrots, green beans, grilled cheese sandwiches, bananas, apples, yogurt, chicken, pasta, and basically anything you put in front of him.
  • He only nurses once every other day. We have started the weaning process and hopefully he'll be weaned by the end of the month.
  • He loves vanilla milk. He hated whole milk, so we tried vanilla milk. I give him half vanilla/half whole milk in his cup and he loves it!
  • He loves playing outside - playing with sticks, swinging, riding in his wagon, and helping Papa in the garden.
  • He is walking everywhere!
  • His favorite toys are Dodger, his slide, trucks, books, and balls.
  • He's wearing 12 and 18 month clothes (depending on the brand).

A Step Away From 30

Aaron's 29th birthday was Sunday. We had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday this past weekend which is one reason I'm just getting around to posting about it until now. Aaron is the most amazing husband! I love how he loves me and Levi. One of my favorite things about Aaron is his humor and ability to make me laugh. He keeps things interesting around here and everywhere we go. He isn't afraid to look like an idiot or be silly for the sake of a good laugh. I absolutely love that about him and that inspired my collage for this post. So here's to the best husband and papa around. We hope this year to come is blessed beyond your wildest dreams. Thanks for all the smiles and laughs. We love you!

Summertime

Summer has officially begun and we are enjoying it as much as possible. I'm not one to really care for the 90 degree sticky hot weather, but I love the summer feeling of getting together with friends and family and reconnecting after being so busy the rest of the year. We have already spent lots of time hanging with friends at their homes and on the lake (thanks guys - you know who you are). We bought Levi a pool to cool off this summer and put it to use this week. We even used his new slide from Grandaddy & Grandmama for some extra pool fun. He wasn't too keen on the cold water, but eventually decided he liked it enough to sit for a little while. We hope all of you are enjoying the beginning of your summer too.

UGH!

Don't get me wrong, I am so glad that my kid LOVES to read, but if I have to read this book one more time today I'm gonna scream!

Duck Toss

Ever since Levi was born, Aaron has always given Levi his evening bath. The other night I heard them both laughing hysterically and I had to find out what was so funny. I snuck into the kitchen and this is what I found.

ABC...Easy as 123

I just wanted to share with all of you Levi's new playstation. We bought this magnetic board at IKEA and the magnets at Wal-Mart. I pulled some older magnets out for him to play with and a picture of our family. We hung it low on the wall so he could access it easily. He absolutely loves it, and plays with the magnets all the time. What do you think of my idea?

The fun has only just begun...Lookout world Levi's turned 1

This Saturday we celebrated Levi's 1st birthday. We had a cookout with all our friends and family to celebrate and give thanks to the Lord for the most amazing year. We have truly been blessed with Levi and God keeps amazing us with His goodness. We had a wonderful time and want to thank everyone who came out to the party. I owe a huge thanks to my cousins Jessica & Rachel who came down and helped me make his cowboy cake. It turned out wonderfully, and was quite delicious too.
Levi stuffing his face full of cake.
Still stuffing...
And now presents!
Thanks again to everyone who came. We are so thankful for such wonderful friends and family like you. You made the day extra special!

Big Thanks AMY!!!

Thanks to my talented sister, Amy, I was able to enjoy the Hillsong United concert this past Wednesday. In case you haven't heard the story...

Amy won 2 tickets to the concert off the radio. She called into This Fish and had to make up a song including several words they gave her, and then sing it on the radio. Anyways, they loved her song about rainbows and unicorns and gave her the tickets!! Sadly, Amy had a prior committment to teach on Wednesday night, so she generously gave Beth & I the tickets. We had a great time at the concert, and owe Amy big time for it! Thanks for letting us go in your place!

P.S. This is my 200th post! Yay me!
