“Serve the LORD in sincerity and in truth... Choose you this day whom you will serve.
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Forever In Our Hearts

With a heavy heart we write this post. Those of you who know us well know that we love our dogs greatly. It saddens us to let you know that Dixie is no longer with us. Sometime last night she was hit by a car and killed instantly. She was an awesomely talented dog, but even more she was our loyal friend. We are going to miss her greatly.

New Toys!

Dodger and Dixie got new toys this week. Aaron and I are always on the lookout for some cheap new toys for our pups. For those of you who don't have dogs you have no idea how expensive they can get, especially if you want them to last for more than a couple of days. Usually are dogs tear into a new toy and they are likely to get torn up pretty quickly - just another reason for them to be cheap. We have purchased several stuffed animals for them, but none have stood the test of time. Usually they play with them so often that they tear holes in them within the week of getting them...especially if them have a squeeker (sp?) in them. This week we found these two cute stuffed dogs on sale. Knowing that they probably wouldn't stand up very long they were so cheap that we figured they were worth it, not to mention we haven't gotten the dogs new toys in a while. Dodger and Dixie loved them. If you don't know already, I'm sure by now you can tell that our dogs are part of our family. Since we don't have any kids yet, they are our kids, so we spoil them all the time.

Dodger's mysterious bumps

I took Dodger to the vet Monday. He has developed some awful looking bumps on his face, and Aaron and I were becoming a little worried. When the vet saw Dodger, he looked at me and said, "Well, you peaked my interest." Unfortunately, after lots of questions the vet was still unsure of what Dodger had come in contact with to develop such a rare breakout. He is currently on an antibiotic and a steriod. He goes back to the vet in about 2 weeks to see if his infection has cleared up. I'll let you guys know what happens with his next visit.
Dodger's bumps are starting to clear up, but they haven't completely healed. As you can tell from the picture, he has no hair where his infections are. We are hoping is hair returns. We go in a week to the vet. Hopefully, we'll get good news on how he is healing.
