Showers of Blessings

Yesterday my sister Amy threw an amazing baby shower for our little Naomi who is expected to arrive in about 7 weeks. I was completely blessed by the demonstration of generosity by all of my friends and family that came to love on me and Naomi in preparation for her arrival. I got tons of adorable clothes, bows, blankets, and of course those wonderful necessities like diapers, burp clothes, wipes, and towels. To everyone who came and loved on us THANK YOU! You truly are the most amazing friends in the world. Unfortunately I had my camera, but didn't pull it out once to take a picture. Boo me because my sister did an amazing job of decorating and serving us up a fun time.

Richly Blessed

I have so much to be thankful for this year...

• I am thankful for a loving and understanding husband who is my partner and best friend through this life. He teaches me new things everyday and shows compassion and grace to me in my weakest moments. He cares for me when I'm down and rejoices with me when things are good. I am truly blessed among women.
• I am thankful for an amazing son who is smart, healthy, and brings great joy to my life. I cannot remember my life before him.
• I am thankful for wonderful family and amazing friends who love me for me.
• I am thankful that we have a warm home, food to eat, healthy bodies, my husband's good job, my job as mommy, our church, new friends and old, our educations, our freedoms, and so much more.
• Most of all I'm thankful for the sacrifice of our Savior. Because of His gift of sacrifice we have eternal life. Through him we can have joy in time of sorrow, and peace in time of confusion. I am so thankful to be called His Own.

Thursday when we got home from small group we notice that Levi's wagon had been moved off the front porch and was sitting in the driveway in front of the garage. We checked out the house to make sure no one had broken in and nothing was missing or out of place. Everything was just as we left it with the exception of the wagon. Aaron was putting the wagon back where it belongs and discovered that in the wagon was $23! We aren't really sure of the circumstances or reason for it, but we wish to thank our anonymous donor for giving us this blessing this week.

Not Too Shabby

We just wanted to thank everyone who donated money in order to vote for Levi to become the "Face of Life" for the Georgia Right to Life campaign. Voting ended last night and Levi came in 4th place. Although he won't be featured as the "Face of Life," $1240.00 was raise in Levi's name to help fight and bring an end to abortion. That's not too shabby if you ask me. Hee Haw!

I'm posting this picture for three reasons. First - because my mom asked me to. Second - is to say thank you to Mrs. Terri who gave Levi part of his outfit. And third - because it's Levi and I love posting about him. As many or all of you may know Aaron likes the whole cowboy motif, so everyone has been happy to pass along their things they may have. I got lucky enough to find the chaps from some hand-me-downs. I have to admit the are a really nice pair, and I never would have paid for them otherwise. They usually hang on the wall in Levi's room with Aaron's old rope. The boots and hat came from Mrs. Terri. Levi doesn't quite fit in them yet, but we dressed him up in everything anyway so everyone could see. You have to admit he looks pretty cute, doesn't he?

Random Acts of Kindness

***Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for a kindness. -Seneca-***

I have been completely blessed this month. It seems like I am encountering kindness almost everywhere I go. The other day I had been shopping with Levi and was unloading my buggy when a lady walked up and said "Let me take that buggy for you. You just take care of him." I was startled. She wanted to help me? Then it happened again today. I was at Kroger and had just finished loading the groceries in the car when a man offered to put my cart away. I was even more startled today because I was alone. No baby in tow. He just wanted to be nice. Now I know it is Christmas, and perhaps that is the reason behind this kindness I've been experiencing, but what if it's not? What if that is how they respond to others all the time? How different would the world be if we all showed kindness to just one person every day? We all know the economy is bad and things are hard right now, so why not make life a little better by being kind to one another. That is my challenge to each of you. I hope each of you will join me in showing an act of random kindness each day. Here in the Christmas season it is possibly an easy challenge, but what about January, March, or July? I believe we can make a big difference through small things. Let's start showing the Father's love to one another just as He instructed us to. Will you join me?

New Car

Our family wants to take just a moment to say thank you to all the men and women who have served our great nation. Because of you, we have the freedoms most people only wish they knew. Thank you for giving of yourself to protect my freedoms and my children's future.
