"...I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. I was given life that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am, among all men, most richly blessed.”
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Memories

Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.
I decided to play along with everyone else.
Here's how it works:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together, or one of the first memories you have of me. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Cabin Fever
This weekend we went to my parents cabin. We had a great time getting away. It was Levi's first trip away from home and he did wonderful. We arrived late Friday evening so we weren't able to do much but settle in. Saturday we cooked caramel cinnamon rolls for breakfast before heading to the waterfalls. We hiked to the falls, came home and cleaned up. We then headed into town for dinner and to do some exploring at the lake. The rest of the weekend we just hung out watched movies and played a game or two of cards.

I'm Gonna Be A Cowboy!
Well, as many of you know Aaron is a big rodeo fan, so he is already talking about Levi riding sheep and all. The other day we were hanging out and next thing I know Aaron has Levi riding through the livingroom on Dodger. I had to gt a video clip of it for you all. Below is a picture of Levi's first pair of chaps. I had seen a pair just like them before, but they were $50. Luckily, I got this pair for FREE from a family friend getting rid of a bunch of clothes. I knew Aaron would love them, and I'm sure Levi will be in them all the time once he is old enough.

Weighing In

So earlier I posted that I thought Levi might be pushing 14 pounds. Well, I'm here to say that I officially have no idea how much the kid weighs except to say that he is getting heavier by the day. I was so skeptical about the 14 pounds that I decided to give it another try. I enlisted mom and dad to help. Each of us weighed ourselves with and without Levi. The verdict: This method is completely unreliable. Each time the weight of Levi was different from 10 - 14 pounds. I did place him on the scale by himself and he measured 12.2. pounds, so I guess you can just say he weighs more than he did at birth. We'll have some official measurements when we go back to the doctor for his 2 month check up in about two weeks. Until then I'll just keep guessing. My guess right now is somewhere between Baby Jesus and Gizmo.

6 weeks

Levi is 6 weeks old. I can't believe how fast he is growing. Amy and I attempted to weigh him yesterday, and you won't believe what the scale said...14 pounds! I'm still a little skeptical myself, but we both weighed him and got the same thing. Fourteen pounds or not, here are some recent pictures of our little guy.

Kayaking - Our Version
So our friend Samuel recently bought a kayak. Most of us have already taken it out for a spin on the lake, and we all love it. I was pregnant when he bought it and was afraid to get into it at 9 months along thinking I might not be able to get out of it; therefore yesterday was my first spin in the kayak. It was lots of fun, and now I'm wanting one myself. Every Sunday we get together to hang out. Yesterday we all hung out at Hick's Lake playing ultimate frisbee, cards, and cooking out. Of course, Samuel brought his kayak and we took turns taking it for a drive. Well, riding one at a time was obviously not good enough for us, so we decided to pile on the people and see how far we could get. Enjoy the clip.
