Trunk or Treat

Last night we participated in Trunk or Treat at church. Here is a picture of our truck bed that we decorated for the kids to come "trick or treating." We were really excited about the trunk or treat because it was the first one our church had done. We decorated our trunk with a fall theme. We used lots of pumpkins, scare crows, and leaves to give the fall touch. The weather was so nice. It was just cool enough to feel like fall, but not so cold that being outside was miserable. Just the right "trick or treating" weather.

The night went so well. Everyone at church and the community were invited to eat hotdogs and chili before the "trick or treating" began. So many people brought chili and some yummy desserts. Everything was delicious. After dinner, my dad gave a talk while carving a pumpkin. He talked about how the pumpkin reflects our hearts, and when Jesus comes into our hearts, He cleans us out, carves a smile on our face, and allows His love (the light) to shine through. All this kids were sitted at the foot of the stage watching and listening to his story. After the story, all the kids decorated pumpkins while the adults went out an put finishing touches on their cars. All this kids and adults seemed to have a wonderful time in fellowship. There were so many great costumes, but my ultimate favorite were the Patterson's who were dressed up like the Veggie Tales. Hope you enjoy all the photos .

New Toys!

Dodger and Dixie got new toys this week. Aaron and I are always on the lookout for some cheap new toys for our pups. For those of you who don't have dogs you have no idea how expensive they can get, especially if you want them to last for more than a couple of days. Usually are dogs tear into a new toy and they are likely to get torn up pretty quickly - just another reason for them to be cheap. We have purchased several stuffed animals for them, but none have stood the test of time. Usually they play with them so often that they tear holes in them within the week of getting them...especially if them have a squeeker (sp?) in them. This week we found these two cute stuffed dogs on sale. Knowing that they probably wouldn't stand up very long they were so cheap that we figured they were worth it, not to mention we haven't gotten the dogs new toys in a while. Dodger and Dixie loved them. If you don't know already, I'm sure by now you can tell that our dogs are part of our family. Since we don't have any kids yet, they are our kids, so we spoil them all the time.

Hallelujah Hoopla

Saturday evening Aaron & I attended the Hallelujah Hoopla at the church. There were huge blow up slides, an obstacle course, hayrides, lots of festival games, tons of food (cotton candy...yum yum), and more candy than any one kid should have access to. We had lots of fun seeing all of our friends and family dressed up for a fun filled evening.

Weekend Fun

So this weekend has been quite busy, but lots of fun. Aaron had class in Atlanta this weekend, so I made some plans to hang out with my sisters. Friday I got to see Jessica who was down for the day and sweet Braden. That night my sisters and I played cards with Moo. Beth and I completely domindated Amy and Moo. Saturday Beth and I headed to Discover Mills just to do a little shopping and get away. These pictures are from the photo booth we just couldn't pass up. While we were at the mall Amy and Dad were busy carving a pumpkin in preparation for the Trunk or Treat coming up this Wednesday. Below are some pictures of them and their creation.

Saturday night we headed to the Hallelujah Hoopla at Prospect where we saw all the little ones dressed up. Pictures of them will be up soon. Sunday was just time to hang out and relax...and of course play ultimate frisbee with all the friends. This has some how become a Sunday afternoon tradition thanks to Samuel.

A little peace and quiet

This weekend Aaron & I headed to my parents cabin. As many of you may know, Aaron started seminary this past fall, and one of the requirements for a class was for he and the spouse to spend 24 hours in prayer and fasting focusing on their future in ministry. We already feel lead to missions and evangelism, but we used this time to allow God to speak to us more specifically. The weekend was very relaxing. However, throughout the weekend we were able to find time to get out and enjoy the mountains. We stopped at Bass Pro on the way and bought some new jackets since the weather was getting a little cool. Saturday afternoon I worked a puzzle and that night we worked another puzzle. Aaron picked the second puzzle - a portrait of Cornwalis' surrender in the Revolutionary War. Just because he picked it doesn't mean he was going to help me finish it. He helped me get started, but quickly gave up and left the rest to me. I finished it, and was quite proud of myself since the whole puzzle was basically the same color. Sunday we traveled to Hayesville, NC for some wonderful french toast. When we returned, Aaron found some time to hike the mountain while I caught up on some sleep (I was unable to hike this time due to my ultimate frisbee injury). We got back home yesterday evening, relaxed and ready to go back.


The previous weekend I went to the cabin with my sisters and some friends. I'm also attaching a few of those pics for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks to the blogging folks who fixed my problem, I am now able to upload photos and enjoy blogging a little better. Sorry for all the rambling in my earlier post. I was just frustrated.

So far...I HATE blogging

Well, I have tried to get this blog thing organized today. For whatever reason, I am able to figure it all out except the posting of pictures. Actually I have figured this out, it is just that blogger is refusing to upload my photos. At this point I am completely frustrated and about ready to abandon the world of blogging. For those of you out there that are ready to post comments with the steps to posting pics, save your fingers from pointless typing. I understand how to do it. I pick the picture or pictures that I want to upload and a bright triangle with an exclamation point inside pops up. It goes through the process and then gives me a message stating I need to report the error and the information it provided. Only problem, every help place I visit isn't exactly ready to let me post my problem. So as of now, I am picture less--and FRUSTRATED. I am abondoning the blog world for a while in hopes the problem fixes itself. When I return, if the problem doesn't fix itself....unfortunately I may no longer be a blogger. Yep...just tried again, and of course I got the error message again. I'm done.
