“Serve the LORD in sincerity and in truth... Choose you this day whom you will serve.
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua 24:14-16

Valentine's Day

This year I got really into Valentine's Day. Usually A and I would go to dinner and maybe just maybe a card or two would be exchanged, but that would be about it. This year I decided to really get into the spirit of things. A and I celebrated a few days early going to dinner Friday night at Romano's Macaroni Grill and grabbed a delicious chocolate covered strawberry milkshake from Steak-N-Shake on the way home. Shoog spent the night with Lou on Friday night and when we picked him up Saturday afternoon we got special Valentine cupcakes and this awesome frame from him. I just love it!! We spent Sunday evening making homemade Valentine's and cookies for some pretty special people. Monday I decided to take my special little guy on a Valentine date. We went to breakfast at Chick-fil-A where we ate some yummy chicken biscuits and shared some tots.
After breakfast he got to finally open his valentine present from mommy...MONSTER TRUCKS! He was so excited!
Last night my hubby had to work late (bummer I know). However, I have an awesome dad who stepped in and took me out for Valentine's (ok, it was already planned, but you gotta love him anyways). Dad took my sisters and I for dinner at O'Charley's. Really wish I had taken a picture of us there, but it totally slipped my mind. Spending that time with them was really special, and we laughed quite a bit, but that is no rarity with us. I had a great time celebrating with all of my special valentines, and I hope you felt as much love on valentine's day as I did.

Levi spent two hours making this for me. The whole 2 hours he told me he was making me a big scary monster, but when he finished he said "Here Mommy, its a birthday cake!" Gotta admit its the best birthday cake I've ever seen.

LIFE

This past Friday we participated in the Right to Life / Together for Life Memorial Walk on the steps of the state capital with Georgia Right to Life. This was our 3rd year to participate, and every year it hits me to my core. Abortion is real. It happens everyday...several times a day. It is so prevalent in our society, yet so secret at the same time. Many women choose abortion because it is an easy answer to a situation they didn't plan for; however, in its aftermath it brings destruction through heartache, fear, guilt, shame, unworth, disappointment, and judgment. I long to see the day when abortion is illegal, but more importantly I long for the day when women choose LIFE over an easy out whether it is legal or not. I pray that the Lord will raise up families to adopt children that were given the chance to live. I pray that the Lord will change the heart of our nation and political leaders to see that abortion an ugly reality. I pray that the Lord would send revival upon us and end abortion forever. Until that day comes, I ask you to join me in prayer that the Lord will bring an end to abortion in America, and raise up people to be His hands and feet in this battle against evil. May His will be accomplished and His glory reign.
