Finally!

I finally finished it!

New Moon was a HUGE disappointment for me. I really enjoyed reading Twilight, so I was SO looking forward to reading New Moon. It was just too slow for me. My sister Amy got me real excited about it too because she loved it. I kept waiting to fall in love with Jacob, and it just never happened. I started reading it around Thanksgiving, and just now finished it! I can't believe it took me that long, but I was so bored through most of it that I would have to read a chapter at a time. There was no Edward, and Bella was really getting on my nerves. I was on page 480 before I was like "This is getting good." At least the last 80 pages or so weren't bad. I actually started enjoying it a little then. I will say that at least the last chapter got me looking forward to the next installment. I think I will enjoy Eclipse much better, but I'm not holding my breath after this disappointment.

He's Everywhere!

...And I mean EVERYWHERE!

This week Levi mastered crawling, and now he is into everything. If I turn my back for a moment he is on the move to investigate some new place or item in our house. He has always been very curious about everything, and now he is able to move and explore his curiosity. I love that he now has that ability to explore his world, but I'm a little worn out from making sure he is staying out of things he shouldn't be in. This week he has discovered our hardwood floors in the foyer and dining room. He loves to go in there and pound on the floor because of the noise it makes. To tell you the truth, I can't believe he hasn't wondered in there before now. He also loves cords, so I'm constantly checking to make sure there is nothing he can grab. Our fireplace has also caught his attention this week. It is only about 4 inches off the ground, so he likes to go and pull up on it. However, he got into the fire utensils, and got soot all over his face, hands, and mouth. At first he was pretty pleased with himself until he got in trouble. The picture really doesn't do it justice, the soot was everywhere! He has also enjoyed chasing Dodger around the house, which Dodger has not enjoyed quite as much. I must say that Dodger has been great with Levi. Ever since he was born and we first brought him home from the hospital, Dodger has been really sweet with Levi. He has a lot of patience and will let Levi crawl on him and pull his hair and stuff. However, whenever Dodger needed a break from Levi he could just get up and go to another room in the house. The problem now is that Levi can now follow him. Poor dog. He hasn't had much of a break this week.

I have been trying to get a good video of Levi crawling all week. Every time I would try to get him to crawl to an object, usually the remote control, he would end up crawling to me instead. Even though it would drive me crazy, I loved that he wanted to come to me instead of a toy. So, happy watching, and here's to many more posts of what he gets himself into next. Until then...

8 Months

My little man is 8 months old today! I can't believe it! The months are flying by, and it won't be long before I'm writing his one year post. I can't get over how much he has grown. He has filled our lives with so much joy, and the last eight months have been nothing but a blessing. We love you Levi.

48 Reasons to Celebrate

My mom celebrated her 48th birthday on the 25th. I'm just now getting around to making the official post. We went out to dinner with the family on Saturday to celebrate. Happy Birthday Mom, and we hope you have a fantastic year!

Right to Life

Today we attended the Georgia Right to Life March in downtown Atlanta. It was awesome. The Right to Life organization speaks out against the unjustice being done to our unborn children through abortion. We gathered today to because it is the anniversary of Roe v. Wade (1973) which legalized abortion in the United States. It is estimated that since 1973 there have been 48 million babies aborted in the United States. Approximately 24% of all pregnancies in the U.S. end in abortion. Those numbers alone were cause enough for us to join the GRTL today. We met on the Capital steps for praise and worship, and then had a series of speakers, one of which was the niece of Martin Luther King, Jr. She herself has had two abortions, was about to have a third, and the men in her family stepped in and convinced her otherwise. She now speaks out against abortion realizing the devastating effects it has on the unborn and the mother. After the speakers we participated in a silent one mile march in memory of those that have fallen victim to abortion. Everyone participating was so quiet and respectful as we marched around the streets of Atlanta. As we began the march they played the sound of a heartbeat. They then played Taps on the trumpet, and continued to play it as we walked our mile. It really made what we were doing seem real. I was so touched to see how many people came out to support the cause. Aaron & I have had a burning passion to see abortion outlawed in the United States, and would encourage everyone to join the cause in your own state. We can make a difference if we stand united under Christ and claim His promises for the unborn. Even with the bitter cold, today was totally worth it. It only ignited my passion more.
